Dr. Gulraiz Zulfiqar was schooled in de’Montmorency College of Dentistry and did his BDS in 2006. After his house job, he was trained for four years in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at King Edward Medical University, Lahore. He acquired advance surgical fellowships from College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan and Hannover Medical School, Germany. Dr. Zulfiqar is known for establishing Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Allama Iqbal Medical College. He is the Deputy Director of AIMC Online education and responsible for conducting online lectures of local and foreign faculty for the students of AIMC. He also holds undergraduate and post-graduate teaching appointments for the last nine years, and is actively involved in academic activities of University of Health Sciences and College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan. He is a Regional AO faculty (Middle East and North African Board) from Pakistan. He also has privileges of being International Faculty of AO PEER (AO Program for education and excellence in research, Switzerland) and International Society of Head and Neck Trauma, UK. His trauma interests include mid-facial fractures, management of post-traumatic deformity resulting from TMJ Ankylosis and oncological surgery interests include the management of advanced oral cancer.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a super specialty of dental surgery, focusing on reconstructive surgery of the face, facial trauma surgery, the oral cavity, head and neck, mouth, and jaws, as well as facial cosmetic surgery.

Our faculty is nationally and internationally trained to recognize and treat a wide spectrum of diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region. We empathetically treat problems of our needy patients such as fractures of facial or jaw bones, fire arm injuries to the face, facial deformity and misaligned jaws with ortho-gnathic surgery, tumors and cysts of the jaws, facial skin cancer, trauma surgery, dental implant surgery and the surgical extraction of wisdom teeth.

  • The Department has a 20-bedded indoor facility for isolated Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and joint ventures with Plastic Surgery, Neuro-Surgery and Orthopaedics Surgery. A Day Case Surgery Center works 6 days a week to meet the needs of patients for minor oral surgery and single site maxillofacial fractures under LA / Conscious Sedation.
  • Our mission is to provide round the clock full-scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical care to the patients presenting in Emergency and Out-patient department of Allied Jinnah Hospital, Lahore and treats more than 7000 patients per annum. Further, the department is well recognized for treating stage 4 oral cancer cases with micro-vascular reconstruction in collaboration with Jinnah Burn and Reconstructive Surgery Center.
  • The department maintains a nationally recognized Fellowship (FCPS) and Masters (MDS) residency program to produce competent Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons in all phases of the specialty.
  • Residents are encouraged to develop critical thinking skills and a life-long learning attitude to deliver comprehensive oral and maxillofacial surgical care to the patients. Research and Scholarly activities of the department contribute new knowledge to the specialty. Our residency programs promote the development of ethical and humanitarian concerns.
