Dr. Dur Muhammad Khan is the Head of Department of Medical Unit IV at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore. He graduated from King Edward Medical College, Lahore. He passed his MRCP (UK) examination in 2000. Since then, he has worked as Senior Registrar, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor at different public sector teaching hospitals and medical colleges. He is a supervisor of FCPS and MD medicine exams. He has many research papers to his credit, which have been published in renown national journals. Dr. Khan is a member of Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine and Pakistan Society of Gastroenterology. In recognition of his services in the field of medicine, Dr. Dur Muhammad Khan has been awarded fellowship by the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2012.
Medical Unit IV is a 58-bedded medical ward which deals with patients having medical conditions related to all fields of medicine (Gastroenterology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Oncology, Respiratory and Infectious Diseases etc.). Patients are admitted to this ward mainly from the Medical Emergency Department or Medical OPD for both diagnosis and management of their medical problems. The Department of Medicine works at the frontline to deal with all the non-surgical emergencies of the patients. Medical Unit IV aims to provide best possible care to the patient by optimum professional code of conduct and good practice.
- Our department has all the necessary equipment to manage any medical emergency. And we work in collaboration with ICUs to provide the best medical management to our patients.
- The department also provides the atmosphere and facilities to under training doctors to increase their knowledge and skills to serve the nation.
- At the moment, there are 24 post graduate doctors who are working and learning under the guidance of faculty of Medical Unit IV. House officers also join the ward for three month rotation. We ensure that all staff updates their knowledge by conducting lectures and classes within the ward level.
